Challenge Yourself Downhill

Idre Fjäll is the perfect place to try downhill biking if you're a beginner, but it's just as fun for more experienced riders. Our downhill trails are a bit different from other places – here you'll find smoother, flowy curves rather than sharp turns. Even if you're a cross-country cyclist, you can ride our downhill tracks without needing to rent a different bike. If you're looking for a challenge, our red trail offers some drops and technical obstacles."

Difference between Cross-country and Downhill

Cross-country focuses on endurance and pedaling over varied terrain with lightweight bikes and less suspension. Downhill is about steep descents with jumps and technical obstacles, using heavier bikes with strong suspension. Cross-country requires stamina, while Downhill demands skill and protective gear.

Downhill Trails

Akka – Green

Akka is a lovely flow trail for the whole family, with a total of 5 picturesque resting areas with benches for those who want to take in the views. Perfect for beginners and pleasure seekers! Do you recognize the name? Akka is named after the famous goose in "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" who passed over Städjan.

Pappas Nya - Green

Pappas Nya is an exciting and diverse bike trail that starts from Askeleden at Aske's barbecue area. Here you'll encounter big turns, boardwalks, and impressively high berms. This trail suits both advanced cyclists and those who are beginners.

With a mix of technical and varied sections, Pappas Nya is a perfect trail to test and develop your skills. Take on the big, high berms and be impressed by the versatility that this bike trail has to offer.

Tut Tut - Green

If you have a bell on your bike, it is perfectly fine to ring it when you ride Tut tut, or shout "tjoho"! Tut tut winds its way down one of our central ski slopes and offers a flowy hand-built trail, velodrome curves and the occasional small rock drop that you can choose to roll over or jump out of.

Ner ska du – Blue

Flow-fest deluxe with unbeatable views! Ner ska du offers fantastic velodrome berms, rollers, bridges, short rock sections, and an adrenaline rush that will leave you wanting more! The trail is suitable for both adults and children. It's important that you have good control over your brakes and bike.

Difficulty level: Intermediate to advanced riders.

Skaschptrôllens stig - Blue

Skaschptrôllens stig is a fun and flowy trail for everyone regardless of whether you are a beginner or advanced. When you reach the end of the trail you can either visit Vildmarksnästet or The Stadium, you can also take Killivippen back to Skills Area where you first started.

Voest - Blue

Voest is a scenic cycling trail stretching west to east, offering a varied and entertaining experience.

Voest provides fantastic views. Here, you can enjoy a picturesque journey through the landscape while challenging your cycling skills. The trail's larger berms require more experience, and an opportunity to develop and take on new challenges.

Askeleden – Red/Blue

Here, it's very important to keep an eye on the brakes and maintain good control of the bike. Askeleden is incredibly fun and flowing, but what sets it apart from our other downhill trails is the number of velodrome berms. Here, you can throw your bike from side to side, we promise that you'll be tired when you reach the bottom. Keep an eye out for Aske and his friends! At the bottom of Askeleden, the Väst 6:an starts, here you can take your bike and ride back up to the top for another exiting run!

Ner ska du – Red

If "Ner ska du – Blue" is a flow festival, this is a real disco! Fantastic velodrome curves and smooth trails, mixed with technical surprises, rock drops, rowdy sections, and a solid adrenaline rush! This trail is suitable for the intermediate cyclist who has good control over the bike, is confident with the brakes, and wants to challenge themselves. It's also perfect for the advanced cyclist seeking a challenge and an adrenaline rush, and who's ready to jump whenever the trail allows.

Straight Rhythm - Red

To make the Straight Rhythm track red, you must master the technique of wheeling between two bumps. Furthermore, on the red track, there are various jump techniques, including step-up, step-down, double jumps, triple jumps, plateau jumps, and two challenging "dragons-back" sections that demand a high degree of skill and precision. To conquer all the jumps along the entire track, higher speeds are required, generated when you land correctly. Jumping requires skill and caution, preferably under the supervision of an instructor.

The track has been developed with contributions from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
